Salvador Montó was born in Valencia, Spain.
He had his first exhibitions in municipal halls and companies, but in 1992 his career had a breakthrough when he obtained the first prize in the contest of Salamanca "Silver National Award for Painting" and from that moment, he decided to devote himself to painting professionally.
The same year, Montó exhibited for the first time in an individual exhibition at Gallery Alfama (Madrid), where the Duke of Alba bought one of his works. In the following ten years, he participated in major art competitions both nationally and internationally, and he achieved first place in 6 of them, resulting in numerous "mentions of honor and diplomas". He also received the "Medal Award of Honor BMW" of the prestigious contest of painting BMW in Spain, in the years 1993, 1996, 2000 and 2002.
His international work began in 1995, along with four other painters exhibiting at the gallery La Boheme in Miami (USA). Later, Montó exhibited in group shows and art fairs in London, Strasbourg, Siegen (Germany), Buenos Aires, Berlin, Hamburg, Rome, Milan, Ghent, Innsbruck, Krakow, Verona, Parma and Brussels. Also performs solo exhibitions in Milan, Brescia and Brussels.
From his first exhibition in 1992 in Madrid, to nowadays, he has exhibited regularly in major Spanish cities, like Madrid, Gijón, Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, Córdoba and Valencia.
In 1998 and 2006 Salvador Montó published two monographs about his work, "The interior landscape" and "New York Works".
